Frequent Asked Questions

What can I expect in the assessment meeting?

I will ask questions about your main concerns and will ask you to complete some questionnaires either before the meeting or during. This will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions. I will then send you a therapy contract and consent forms to sign.

How much are the sessions?

Sessions are £80 and invoiced the week before we meet. Payment is required before a session in order to book it. If you are unable to attend a session, and do not give 24 hours notice, then the session is still chargeable.

Are you registered with any health insurance companies?

I am registered with AXA and Aviva health insurance.

What will happen in the sessions?

In the first session we will identify some goals to work towards and begin to build a structured treatment plan together. In each session we create a session plan of what we will cover that day. It can be a good idea for you to take notes in the sessions to refer back to. With your agreement I might also email information to you in relation to the session practice.

Do I have to do any work between sessions?

Evidence has shown that completing agreed tasks between sessions aids progress and the development of new skills.

How often do I need to attend?

It can be weekly or fortnightly, this can be discussed

and agreed in the assessment.

Where will sessions take place?

I offer face to face sessions at premises based

in Wheathampstead, and also at The Oak House

Therapies in the grounds of Hatfield House.

I am also offering support remotely on the phone

or by video link on other days. If you would like

more information, then please do not hesitate to

message me for availability and a free

initial assessment.

What if I need to cancel a session?

My cancellation policy is that I would ask you give at least 24 hours’ notice. Anything less than that and you would still be charged for the session. Likewise, if I were to give you less than 24 hours’ notice then I would provide the next session free of charge.

Will it be confidential?

The therapy sessions are confidential except where you may pose a threat to yourself or others. This would be discussed, and appropriate measures would be followed. I have monthly supervision also which is kept confidential, no identifying details are shared.
